Zachary Wayne Thornton

Zachary Wayne Thornton, 27 of Rockingham passed away on December 11, 2021. He was born on November 9, 1994 in Richmond County, a son of Wayne Eugene Thornton, Jr. and Jennifer Lynn Russell.

He is survived by his father Wayne Eugene Thornton Jr.(fiancé Tammy Looney),Mother Jennifer Russell Grooms and step father Kevin Grooms; brother Taylor  Alexander Thornton(fiancé Savanna Perkins); paternal  grandparents, Wayne Eugene Thornton, Sr. and Karen Thornton, maternal grandparents Donald and Mary Russell; step-grandparents Cecil and Janice Grooms; uncles Chris Thornton, Matt Thornton and Dennis Guinn and was preceded in death by uncle Mark Guinn.

The family will receive friends and family on Wednesday, December 15, 2021 from 12:45 – 1:45 at Carter Funeral Home in Rockingham. Facial coverings and social distancing are recommended.

A graveside service will be at 2:00 pm Wednesday at Eastside cemetery.
