Willie Richard Cagle

Ellerbe, NC Willie Richard Cagle, 58 of Ellerbe, passed away on March 20, 2021 at Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst. He was born on November 29, 1962 in Montgomery County, NC a son of Audrey Blackmon Cagle and the late Melvin Cagle, Sr. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday at the Ellerbe Cemetery. Facial coverings are required and social distancing is requested. Richard will lie in state on Wednesday from 3:00 – 5:00 pm at Carter Funeral Home in Rockingham. He is survived by his son Justin Chase Cagle, grandson, Landon Chance Wilson; his mother, Audrey Blackmon Cagle; sister Angela Davis and brother-in-law James Davis; and brothers Melvin Eugene Cagle and Tony Lynn Cagle. Richard will be missed but will be remembered. “ Don’t grieve for me for now I’m free, I’m following the path God laid for me. I took his hand when I heard him call: I turned my back and left it all. I could not stay another day To laugh, to love, to work or play. Tasks left undone must stay that way; I found my place at the close of day. If my parting has left a void, Then fill it with remembered joys. A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss, Ah yes, these things I too shall miss. Be not burdened with times of sorrow; I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow, My life’s been full, I savoured much; Good friends, good times, a loved ones touch.
