William Robert Ragan

William Robert “Butch” Ragan, 73 of Ellerbe passed away on October 28, 2020. He was born on April 17, 1947 in Moore County a son of the late William Preston and Louise Ballard Ragan. He was retired from Tex Racing, was a US Army Vietnam Veteran and enjoyed dirt track racing. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Joyce Mills Ragan; his in-laws and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, October 31, 2020 at McLean Presbyterian church outside in the picnic shelter area. The family requests that those attending wear appropriate facial coverings and maintain social distancing. Memorials may be made to the Ellerbe Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 148, Ellerbe, NC 28338 or to the charity of one’s choice. Carter Funeral Home of Rockingham is assisting the Ragan Family.
