William Graham

William Edward Graham, Jr, 75, of Rockingham, passed away Saturday, November 17, 2018 at his home.

Mr. Graham was born November 21, 1942 in Marlboro County, SC, a son of the late William Edward and Jane Allen Graham. He was a member of First Assembly in Rockingham.

He  served his country in the US Air Force, retiring as Senior Master Sergeant and later retired from NASA.  He received the following medals Meritorious service medal W/1 Device, AF Commendation Medal, AF Achievement Medal, AF Good Conduct Medal W/6 Devices, Small Arms Expert Rifle, AF Expeditionary Medal, NCO Professional Military Education Ribbon W/1 Device, AF Longevity Service Ribbon W/4 Devices, National Defense Service Medal, AF Overseas Service Long Tour Ribbon W/2 Devices, AF Overseas Service Short Tour Ribbon, AF Training Ribbon, Vietnam Service Medal, AF Outstanding Unit Award W/5 Devices, Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross W/Device, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Joint Unit Citation.

Surviving are his wife, Brenda Hinson Graham; children, Angela Cocketon (Mark) of Hamlet, Honey Tyndall (Scott) of Yorktown, VA, and William E. Graham, III (Jane) of Seaford, VA; grandchildren, Melanie (Josh), Alex (Jackeline), Christina (David), Michael, Jennifer, Samuel, Isaiah, Grace, Ezekiel and Jeremiah; great-grandson Waylon; a sister, Merrie Dawkins of Rockingham and his faithful companion Cooper.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 am on Wednesday, November 21, 2018 at First Assembly of God with Rev. Gene Alexander officiating. Interment with Military Honors will follow in Richmond County Memorial Park.

The family will see friends from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm Tuesday at Carter Funeral Home in Rockingham.
