Wiley WIlson Lampley

Wiley Wilson Lampley, 93, of Rockingham, passed away Wednesday, August 8, 2018 at Hospice Haven.

Mr. Lampley was born August 11, 1924 in Anson County, a son of the late David E. and Nancy Teal Lampley. He was a graduate of Rockingham High School, a member of Roberdell United Methodist Church and had retired from CSX Railroad after 33 years of service. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Annie Lee McKenzie Lampley and step daughter, Martha Jean Sedberry.

Surviving are his children, Crawford Wilson Lampley (Cheryl) and Brenda Lampley Cannon (Howard); grandchildren, Leigh Ann Lampley, Danny Lampley (Angela), David Lampley (Cheryl) and Vic Barberousse; great grandchildren, Savannah Lampley, J. D. Lampley, Ace Lampley, Cayleigh McClendon, Sydney McClendon, Wyatt Lampley, Ethan Lampley, Carson Lampley and Jack Barberousse and his lifelong friend, Denny Spivey.

A service to celebrate Mr. Lampley’s life will be at 2pm Sunday at Roberdell United Methodist Church with Rev. Butch Farrah and Rev. Bob Carpenter officiating.

The family will see friends one hour prior to the service at the church and at other times at Mr. Lampley’s home.
