Victor Montgomery Long, 56, of Ellerbe, passed away Friday, July 3, 2020.

Vic was born December 30, 1963 in Richmond County, a son of the late Leaton Montgomery Long and Brenda Gainey Long Beck. A God fearing man, Vic was a member of Saron Baptist Church. A graduate of Richmond Senior High School, Class of 1982, he had worked as a dispatcher with Dewitt Trucking, House of Raeford and Stevens Transport Company and also as a poultry farmer. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Leaton M. Long, Jr and a sister Tammy Nichols.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 34 years, Trudi McIntyre Long; children, Clinton Montgomery Long (Amber) and Jennifer-Lynn Long (Corey Cardin); grandchildren, Jaycee Long and Abigail Cardin; a sister, Renea Craven and his faithful canine companion Patches.

The family will hold a celebration of Vic’s life at 3:00 pm Sunday, July 12, 2020 at Saron Baptist Church with Rev. Wayne Luck and Rev. Jeff Moody officiating. They will greet friends following the service. Please remember to wear masks and observe social distancing requirements.

We are not promised tomorrow, but we are promised God’s salvation if we just simply ask. You are loved by God’s Grace.

God is our refuge and strength. A very present help in trouble. Psalms 46:1 Amen & Amen.
