Thomas Randolph Curtis, 86, of Rockingham, passed away Sunday, February 1, 2026.
Tom was born July 27, 1939, in Vicksburg, Mississippi to the late Elbert James “Jack” and Aura Doris Strickland Curtis. The son of a professional wrestler, Tom followed in his father’s footsteps wrestling under the name Randy Curtis. From 1969 to 1973 Tom would wrestle 547 matches professionally under the name “Randy Curtis” and accumulate a record of 202 wins, 105 losses and 240 draws. Randy Curtis and Lorenzo Parente would earn the NWA (Mid-America) World Tag Team Championship in September 1973. He served his country proudly in the US Air Force, Mississippi National Guard, US Army,20th Special Forces Group and retired as Major in the Army National Guard. He was the former owner of the Block House Antique Store and Indian Relic Museum in Hamlet before opening Curtis Military Surplus from where he retired. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Randy Curtis and his siblings, Jack Curtis, Jr and Gladys Holliman.
He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years Lynn Odom Curtis; grandson, Thomas Chance Curtis (Kenzie): great grandchild, B.J. Curtis and special friends, David Godfrey and Jimmy Covington.
Graveside services, with Military Honors, will be at 2:00 pm Wednesday, February 18, 2026, at Mary Love Cemetery in Hamlet.
