Thomas Fletcher Currie

Thomas Fletcher “Tommy” Currie, 82, of Rockingham, passed away Monday, March 14, 2022 at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst.

He was born October 30, 1939 in Richmond County, son of the late Eddie and Ivery King Currie. He was a loving husband, father, “PaPa” and brother. He worked with J.M. Long Construction for several years and farmed all his life.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Beulah Atkins Currie of the home; sons, Fletcher Currie of the home and Ronald Currie (Stephanie) of Rockingham; grandchildren, Summer Lynn Currie of Rockingham and Gavin Barnes of Rockingham; siblings, Frances C. Nicholson of Greensboro, NC, Henry Currie (Melinda) of Ellerbe, Mary C. Byrd (Harris) of Mt. Gilead, Ray Currie (Debbie) of Rockingham and Kathy C. Allen (Roger) of Rockingham and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be at 2:00 pm Friday. March 18, 2022 at Rourke Presbyterian Church Cemetery with Rev. Robby Stewart officiating. Any farmers attending please come as you are, overalls, jeans – respecting the working man.

The family will see friends from 12:45 – 1:45 pm Friday, March 18, 2022 at Carter Funeral Home in Ellerbe.
