Sylvia Boyte Speight

Sylvia Boyte Speight, 85, of Rockingham went to be with her Lord and Savior Friday, November 24, 2023.

Mrs. Speight was born July 24, 1938 in Moore County, a daughter of the late Joseph Lee and Alma Campbell Boyte. After obtaining her associates degree and becoming a Registered Nurse she touched many lives while doing home health and hospice. She attended the Rockingham Church Of God Of Prophecy. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 53 years Charles Thomas Speight, Sr. brothers, Joseph Boyte, James Boyte and John Boyte (Ruth).

Surviving are her children, Charles Thomas Speight, Jr. (Amanda) of Randleman, Ashworth Lee “Ashley” Speight (Denise) of Rockingham; grandchildren, Jared (Kennedi), Nikolas, Charlie and Paisley, sisters-in-law Jan Boyte and Betty Boyte Ellis.

Funeral services will be at 3 pm Sunday, November 26, 2023 at the Church of God of Prophecy, Flowers St. Rockingham with Pastor Steve Gilmer officiating. Interment will be private.

The family will see friends from 1:45pm to 2:45pm prior to the service at the church and at other times at the home. 

In lieu of flowers, the family ask that donations be made to the Samaritan’s Purse in memory of Sylvia Speight.
