Sue Dunn

Sue Thompson Dunn, 85 of Salisbury, NC, passed away Friday, February 23, 2018 at Trinity Oaks Retirement Community.  Mrs. Dunn was born August 23, 1932 in Richmond County, a daughter of the late Alvin B. and Eunice S. Thompson. She attended public schools in Rockingham, NC and completed one year at Emmanuel Junior College in Franklin Springs, Ga.  Sue was a faithful member of First Pentecostal Holiness Church in Rockingham, NC.  She worked in both Salisbury and Rockingham as a bookkeeper eventually retiring from Hamlet Hospital.  

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, A. G. Dunn Sr, brother, Brantley Thompson and sister, Barbara Dunlap.  She is survived by her son, Al Dunn (Trish) of Salisbury, NC, daughter Susan Dunn of Rancho Cucamonga, CA, four grandchildren, Cate Dunn, Evan Dunn, Carson Abney and Hannah Abney, her brother, Gene Thompson (Pat) of Birmingham, AL, sister-in-law, Becky Thompson of Cheraw, SC. and several nieces and nephews. 

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at 2:00 pm at Carter Funeral Home in Rockingham with the Rev. Harris Jordan officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:45 – 1:45 pm at the funeral home.  Burial will follow the service at Richmond Memorial Park.
