Shirley JoAnn Stutts Hill

JoAnn Hill, 76, of Ellerbe, NC went to be with the Lord on October 21, 2018 at First Health Hospice and Palliative Care. She was born in Richmond County on September 20, 1942 daughter of the late Coy and Octavia Stutts of Norman, NC.

Surviving are her husband Joesph Hill of the home, her three sons, Jason Hill(Doug Woods) of Winston-Salem, Conley Hill(Kelly) and Andy Hill of Ellerbe. She has three granddaughters, Heather Hill(JustinWebster) of Winston-Salem, Carley Hill of Lexington, and Kailey Hill(Chad Marion) of Raleigh. She also has three great-grandsons, Levi Webster of Winston-Salem, Maximus and Memphis Marion of Raleigh, and three brothers, Gerald and Phillip Stutts of Ellerbe and Danny Stutts of Biscoe, and many nieces and nephews. She was a loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Sister-in-law, Aunt, Cousin, and Friend to all.

JoAnn was the Manager of Purchasing and Warehousing for 30 years with Hanes Dye and Finishing in Winston-Salem,NC until her retirement in 2000. She was known and respected by employees at Hanes Dye. During her retirement, she was involved in the community work through serving at the Richmond County Soup Kitchen and volunteered as a Census Leader with Richmond County. After retirement she attended McLean Presbyterian Church in Ellerbe. She was known as a caring, kind and loving person who brought much happiness to others.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 25, 2018 at 11:00 am at McLean Presbyterian Church, with Dr. John Stone and Reverend Jamie Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Ellerbe Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at Carter Funeral home in Ellerbe, NC.
