Sherry Watson Inman, 75, of Rockingham passed away peacefully with her sister by her side at Richmond County Hospice Haven on Friday December 12, 2025.
Sherry was born in Richmond County on September 15, 1950 to the late Cecil Mills and Mary “Mae” Frances Barber Watson. She worked for many years at Sandhurst Mill, before owning a general store with her late husband Harry McRae Inman. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. You could find her in the garden growing fresh vegetables and flowers in the spring and summer months. She also loved trying new recipes and sharing the food with her loved ones.
Along with her parents and husband, Sherry is preceded in death by a sister Donna Chambers, Step granddaughter Sharee Andreu and nephew, Larry Chambers, Jr.
Those left to cherish her memory are her special sister, Margaret Peggy McCallum; nieces and nephews, Connie Engl (Thomas), Lindsay McCallum and Bruce McCallum; Great nieces and nephews, Thomas Engl III, Madison Engl, Logan Engl, Chloe Bishop and McKenzie Bishop. Step daughters, Anne Andrews and Sherry Howell; Step Great Grandchildren, Mia Andreu and Mac Andreu; and neighbor and friends, Brent and Katie Gibson.
The family will receive friends for visitation on Friday December 26, 2025 from 12:30 to 2:30 pm at Carter Funeral Home in Rockingham. A graveside service will follow at Eastside Cemetery at 3 pm.
