Sherry Mae Alfano

Sherry Mae Parsons Alfano, 69, of Ellerbe passed away on Saturday July 25, 2026 at First Health Richmond. She was born on July 9, 1957 in Richmond County to the late Sherrill Leon and Edith Gainey Parsons.

Sherry attended Lanier Technical College earning her associate’s degree in accounting. She spent many years as an administrative assistant in Buford, Georgia before returning to Ellerbe. She loved to cook, shop and spend time with family. Her grandchildren were the light of her life, she enjoyed teaching them about Jesus.

She is survived by her husband Barry Alfano of Buford, GA; son Nick Raines (Nicole) of Ellerbe, stepdaughter Andrea Alfano; grandchildren: Kenlie Grace Raines, Eliana Faith Raines and Sophia Hope Raines; brothers David Parsons (Sue), William Parsons (Susan) and Benjamin “Benji” Parsons (Kelli) all of Ellerbe; sisters: Marie Sessoms of Hope Mills, Joyce Shepard (Jeff) and Teresa Allen (Lewis) both of Ellerbe.

A celebration of life will be held privately at Carter Funeral Home in Ellerbe. The family will receive friends at the home of Michael and Heather Pack.
