Sandra Smith Martin

Sandra Smith Martin, 70, of Rockingham, completed her earthly journey on Friday, December 13, 2024. 

Sandra was born March 22, 1954 in Richmond County, a daughter of the late Edward McPhail and Clarice Russell Kelly. She had worked in textiles, for JC Penny and lastly with Owens-Illinois. She spent many happy years in California, attributing to her love for the beach and particularly the Pacific Ocean. 

Surviving are her husband, Jerry H. “Butch” Martin; children, Deanna Hodges (Robert), Kerri M. Spivey, and Charlie Martin (Erin); eleven grandchildren; ten great grandchildren and sister Teresa Shepard. 

A celebration of Sandra’s life will be at 2:00 pm Tuesday, December 17, 2024 at Carter Funeral Home in Rockingham with Rev. Travis Conner officiating. The family will greet friends from 12:45 – 1:45 pm Tuesday at the funeral home.
