Sandra Kay Joyner, 69, went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, August 25, 2020, at Hospice Haven of Richmond County. A native of Richmond County, she was born March 8, 1951, a daughter of the late Sam M. Joyner and Sadie Ray Edwards Joyner.

Sandra had been a resident of The Hermitage for the past couple of years. She loved the Lord and when able she attended Shining Light Freewill Baptist Church. She enjoyed her Bible and knew many scripture verses. Her greatest joy was meeting and fellowshipping with people.  

She leaves behind two brothers, Sammy M. Joyner and wife Shirley, and Larry Joyner and wife, Kay; one sister, Shirley Adcock, all of Rockingham; plus several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11:30 AM Friday, August 28, at Eastside Cemetery officiated by Pastor Robert “Tug” Gainey.  Due to COVID restrictions, there will be no formal visitation. The body will lie in state from 4:00 until 5:00 PM Thursday at Carter Funeral Home.
