Sally Brigman Shelton Beaman, 88, of Ellerbe, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 13, 2025.
Mrs. Beaman was born February 26,1937 in Richmond County, a daughter of the late Arthur and Ethel Holder Brigman. She had worked with Commonwealth Hosiery, White’s Poultry/Perdue from where she retired and later, she and her husband Johnny raised chickens. She was a member of Mt. Pleasant Church and the Women in Misson. She loved bluegrass music and buck dancing, sometimes dancing four nights a week. She also enjoyed working in her flowers, cooking baking and taking care of her cat, Rosie. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Johnny Shelton in 2003 and Billy Ray Beaman in 2018 and siblings, Legrand Brigman, Jimmy Brigman and Patty Jean Cook.
Surviving are her sisters, Jacky Lamonds (Manuel), Nan Stout (George) and Sarah Maddry; her beloved feline companion Rosie; several nieces and nephews; stepchildren, Angela Beaman Bush (Jim) and Billy Ray Beaman, Jr.; step grandchild, Payten Gallagher (Sean) and step great-grandchildren, Parker and Macie Rae Gallagher.
The family will receive friends from 12:45 -1:45 pm Monday, October 20,2025 at Carter Funeral Home in Ellerbe. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm in the Carter Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. James Mims officiating. Following the service, she will be laid to rest beside her husband Johnny in Ellerbe Cemetery.
