Rufus Pinkney Glidewell

Rufus Pinkney Glidewell, 84, of Rockingham passed away on Wednesday, May 13, 2020 at Pruitt Health. Rufus was born on September 19, 1935 in Stokes County a son of the late Robert Fred Glidewell and Elsie Fagge Glidewell. Rufus was a U. S. Navy veteran, a member of Cordova Baptist Church and was retired from Cheraw Yarn Mill. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Nancy Moore Glidewell, his siblings, Annie Ruth Simmons, Lottie hawks. Robert Glidewell, Sam Glidewell and Ruby Hill.

He is survived by his sons, Mark Glidewell, Brian Glidewell(Joanna); his grandchildren, Dustin Glidewell, Keagan Glidewell, Hannah Glidewell, and Emily Glidewell; 4 great-grandchildren; his sister Frances Hill.

A private graveside service will be held at Richmond County Memorial Park, due to the Covid-19 restrictions. The family will have a memorial service at a later date.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Cordova Baptist Church.
