Ronald Berry Goodwin, a beloved figure known for his kindness and humor, passed away peacefully on May 19, 2025, at Richmond County Hospice Haven, surrounded by his cherished family. Born on November 18, 1945, in Richmond County, North Carolina, Ronald lived a life dedicated to his family and community, leaving an indelible mark on all who had the privilege to know him.

Throughout his career, Ronald built homes throughout the county, crafting not just structures but also spaces where families could create lasting memories. His work was a reflection of his commitment to quality and care, traits that defined him both professionally and personally. A proud veteran, he served in the US Army, embodying the values of service and dedication.

However, it is his role as a husband, father, and friend for which he will be most remembered. His wife, Betty Jean Roberts Goodwin, and his son, Ronald Craig Goodwin, were sources of immense pride and joy for him, and he often spoke of them as his greatest accomplishments. Ronald’s warmth and humor brought light to every gathering, and his ability to make others laugh was matched only by his kindness. The memories created with him—filled with laughter, stories, and love—will be treasured forever.
