Rebecca "Becky" Tilley Mabe

Rebecca “Becky” Tilley Mabe, 70, completed her earthly journey on Monday, November 2, 2020.

Becky was born June 14, 1950 in Richmond County, a daughter of the late Jerald and Adele Marie Maner Tilley. Becky was a graduate of Ellerbe High School, Class of 1968. She was a member of Cartledge Creek Baptist Church where she taught childrens Sunday School, helped with the quilters and received a 7 year perfect attendance award.  For 29 years she worked with LG Dewitt Trucking and retired from Chandler & Associates as a bookkeeper. She loved cooking and spending time with her grandchildren. In addition to her parent’s, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Michael “Mike” Mabe, a daughter, Anna Michelle Mabe, and a sister, Rhonda Allison.

Surviving are her son Greg Mabe (Carrie); grandchildren, Amber Mabe Webster (Jeremy), Joshua Mabe, and Gracie Mabe; brother, Jerry Tilley and sister Brenda Gainey; brother-in-law, Wiley Mabe (Judy); sister-in-law, Peggy Carter; and special friends, Johnny and Norma Martin.

A graveside service will be held at 2pm Thursday, November 5, 2020 at Ellerbe Cemetery with Rev. Jason Lutz officiating. Face coverings are requested, please practice social distancing and bring a lawn chair for the service.

Becky will lie in state at Carter Funeral Home in Rockingham from 9:00 am – 11:00 am Thursday. The family will not be present during this time.
