Phillip Steven “Secret” Gillis, II, 51, of McColl, South Carolina passed away peacefully on Monday April 6, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Richmond County, North Carolina on January 11, 1975, to Phillip Steven Gillis, Sr. and the late Deborah Ruth Martin.

Steven worked with Rex’s floor covering in Rockingham. Along with his wife, he was an active member of the Playaz Elite Motorcycle Club. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and showing off his music system at audio competitions. More than anything, he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Left to cherish his memory; his wife Patricia Gillis; children: Bret Hayes, Haleigh Gillis and Phillip Steven Gillis, III (Amanda); grandchildren: Kayson Hayes, Kendall Hayes, Forrest Cooke, Stefen Gillis and Aibrey Gillis; sister Tamela Gillis; an abundance of nieces and nephews; and close friend, his “right hand man”, Brad Quick.

A celebration of life service will begin at 2:00 pm on Saturday April 11, 2026 at Carter Funeral Home in Rockingham. The family will greet friends from 12:45 to 1:45 prior to the service and at other times at the family home.
