Pamela Smith Waters

Pamela Smith Waters, 72, of Raleigh, completed her earthly journey on Monday, July 8, 2024. 

Pam was born January 16, 1952 in Richmond County, NC, a daughter of the late William Thomas and Lucille Rankin Smith. In her early years she worked with Richmond County School until her first child was born, she then became a proud stay at home mom. She was a member of St. Andrews Episcopal Church in Raleigh where she sang in the choir, and enjoyed playing tennis at North Ridge Country Club. Pam had a great passion and a green thumb for gardening. She loved being outside and barefoot in the yard. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Sandra Lou Smith. 

She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Keith Waters; children, Adyson Long (Anthony Motola), Jake Waters (Rachael) and Jordan Burwell (Leon); grandchildren, Jagger Burwell, Haven Burwell, Paityn Waters and William Motola; sister, Tess Ann Jones and niece, Jill Emerson. 

Funeral services will be at 11:00 am Saturday, July 13, 2024 at Carter Funeral Home in Rockingham with Tom Jones officiating. Interment will be held privately at Eastside Cemetery.

The family will greet friends following the service at the funeral home. 

A special thank you is extended to her caregiver, Joyce Chematui and her children, Sheila, Viola and Abby Korir, who have been a large part of Pam’s life for the last 6 years.
