Mildred Morgan Ward

Mildred Bernice Morgan Ward, the last of the original Morgans of Ellerbe, went home to the Father on 6 March 2018. Born on the family farm 16 August 1927, she grew up a faithful disciple of Jesus to become a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, an astute observer of nature, an avid world traveler, an accomplished cook, a gracious hostess, and an artist with any kind of needle and thread.

She is survived by four children, David (Rita Mendl) Ward, Debbie (Jim) Stallings, Donald (Judy) Ward, and DeeAnne (Paige) Lancaster, a daughter-in-law, Tena Hand, seven grandchildren, and eleven great-grandchildren...so far. She was preceded in death by her stillborn son, Douglas, a grandson, a grandson-in-law, and a great-granddaughter.

Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Saturday at Rourk Presbyterian Church in Ellerbe. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will see friends from 12:45 to 1:45 pm Saturday at the church.
