Mildred "Peggy" Bost McFayden

Mildred “Peggy” Bost McFayden, 89, of Ellerbe, NC passed away Friday, June 22, 2018 at Hospice Haven.

She was born March 5, 1929 in Moore County, NC to the late Fletcher W. and Mildred Wood Bost. She was a graduate of West End High School, a homemaker and an active member of Mount Carmel Presbyterian Church. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and enjoyed the time she spent with family. Once her children were educated and her responsibilities at home lessened, she enjoyed the work and fellowship at David’s Produce. She was preceded in death by her son Jerry McFayden, brothers Fletcher Bost, Jr. and Ben Bost and sister Winnifred Rush.

She is survived by husband of 67 years, Harold Freeman McFayden of the home; daughters Elaine Francis of Aberdeen, Ellen Jones (Dan) of Mount Gilead, and Laura Farrell (Robert) of Aberdeen; a son Larry McFayden (Lynette) of Wilmington; grandchildren Melinda Benson (Graham), Robert Farrell, Stephen Farrell, Rebecca Jarrells (Billy), Daniel Jones (Ashley), James McFayden, Timothy McFayden (Katie); great – grandchildren Faith McFayden, Grace McFayden, Hope McFayden and Greylon Jones; daughter-in-law, Ruth McFayden Freeman and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 3pm Wednesday at Mount Carmel Presbyterian Church with Rev. James Watson officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will see friends from 5 – 7 pm Tuesday at Carter Funeral Home in Ellerbe and at other times at the home.
