Mary Smith Greene

Mary Magdalene Smith Greene, 81, of Mt. Gilead, passed away Saturday, August 18, 2018 at Stanly Manor in Albemarle.

Mrs. Greene was born January 29, 1937 in Montgomery County, a daughter of the late Henry Clay and Nannie Deberry Smith. She had retired from Autumn Care in Biscoe. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Barney Lee Greene. 

Surviving are her children, Randy Lee Greene (Denise) of Troy, Barney Mitchell Greene of Mt. Gilead, Conelia Greene of Mt. Gilead and sisters, Bernice Hurley of Maiden, Rachel Warner of Troy and Betty Suggs of Troy.

Funeral services will be at 2 pm Wednesday at Carter Funeral Home in Ellerbe with Rev. Elizabeth Polk officiating. Interment will follow in Ellerbe Cemetery.

The family will see friends from 12:45 -1:45 pm Wednesday at Carter Funeral Home in Ellerbe.
