Mary Frances Shephard Murdock

Mary Frances Shephard Murdock, 59, passed away Saturday, October 10, 2020 at her home following a courageous battle of 6 years with ALS.

Mary was born July 4, 1961 in Moore County, NC, a daughter of the late John Worth and Margaret Godfrey Shephard. She was a member of Saron Baptist Church, where she served on the entertainment committee and served faithfully when called to serve and a member of the Gold Wing Road Riders Association. Prior to her illness, she was the office manager for Dieffenbach Chevrolet. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, John Shephard, Jr and Jerry Shephard.

Surviving are her husband, Donald L. Murdock; daughters, Christy Elizabeth Shephard  (Tim Myers), Brittney Leigh Murdock; grandchildren, Jackson Worth Stogner, Madison James Meland, Emma Rose Terry, Joshua Carl Terry, Jr, and Katelynn Marie Terry; sister, Doris Warwick; step-daughter, Vinita Williams (Will) and step-grandchildren, Carigan Suzanne Williams and Gunnar Alex Chesson.

The family will hold a private service at Saron Baptist Church. Friends and family are invited to attend a graveside service at 2 pm Wednesday, October 14, 2020 at Norman Cemetery with Rev. Wayne Luck officiating. Face coverings are required and please remember social distancing guidelines.

Mrs. Murdock will lie in state at Carter Funeral Home in Rockingham from 2-4 pm Tuesday.
