Margaret Flowers Terry, 84, of Rockingham, passed away Thursday, April 9, 2020, at Carriage House in Greensboro.

Mrs. Terry was born October 29, 1935, in Richmond County, a daughter of the late Claude William and Ruth Putman Flowers. A longtime member of First Pentecostal Holiness Church she actively served as Sunday School teacher, pianist/organist, and member of women’s auxiliary. A 1954 graduate of Rohanen High, she also attended Emmanuel College. She retired from Poteat Insurance as a licensed insurance agent. She will be remembered and live on in the hearts of loved ones for her caring for others, sharing a homecooked meal, assisting her husband in house projects and enjoying everyday life. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, James Clarence Terry, brothers, James H. Flowers, Rev. Carl E. Flowers, Leon Flowers, sister Mildred Smith Martin and a niece, Ruth Anne Flowers Woods.

Surviving are her step-children, Renae Dean (Calvin), Wayne Terry (Terri) and Eric Terry (Marsha); step-grandchildren, Christy English (Travis), Drew Terry (Stephanie), Emily Dean, Lauren Myers, Joshua Terry and Johnathan Myers; step-great grandchildren, Madison and Chasen Pankey, Khloe, Grayson and Aubrey Terry; nephew, Ronald W. Smith (Phyllis); a sister-in-law, Alfreda Spell Flowers Simmons; great nephews, great nieces and other family members.

Due to the COVID-19 restrictions, graveside services will be held privately at Eastside Cemetery.
