Lois Foster Love, 75, of Ellerbe completed her earthly journey on October 9th, 2026, at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on September 10th, 1951, in Gastonia, N.C., a daughter to the late Norris Henry Foster and Cora Beatrice Dellinger Foster.
Lois was a graduate of Stanley High School and later attended Gaston College for business and accounting. She also worked in Textiles as a spinner.
Lois was a loving mother and grandmother who found great joy in time spent with her children and grandchildren. Lois was outgoing and enjoyed being around people. She was someone who never met a stranger. She had one child of her own, but it has been said that she had “many children.” She took people under her wing and loved them as her own. Lois was someone who took pleasure in some of the simpler things in life, such as gardening, watching westerns, and listening to music.
Lois had a very big green thumb! She could grow anything from potted plants to massive vegetable gardens. Some of her best times were spent with her grandchildren picking vegetables from the garden. At Lois’ house, there were westerns playing on the television. Her favorite western star was none other than The Duke, John Wayne. She didn’t want to see Clint Eastwood or anyone else, she wanted to see John Wayne. Lois loved music and classic rock was just her style. She loved The Eagles and Bob Seger. To her, nothing compared to the sound of those rock and roll songs. She appreciated country music as well. Some of her favorite artists were Brooks and Dunn, Lainey Wilson, and Vern Gosdin. One of her earliest music filled memories was of watching The Beatles on the Ed Sullivan Show. Lois also had a special place in her heart for her beloved companion “Prissy.” They were inseparable. If Lois moved, so did Prissy. She even slept on Lois’ feet every night. Lois loved life and she will be dearly missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Charles “Jeff” Love, her grandson Bryan Keith Johnson, sisters Jeanette Herron, Pat Lawson, and Sylvia Rhyne and brothers Danny Ussery, Reggie Foster, and Eddie Foster. She is survived by her loving daughter Nikki Colonello of Ellerbe, her granddaughter Brittany Colonello of Bear Creek, her great grandchildren Natalia Faith, Nora Leann Marshall, Vander Alexander Marshall, and Boyd Alexander Marshall, her sisters Becky Williams of Florida, Marcene Jones of Mount Holly, and Debbie Lineburger of Stanley, sisters in law Tonia Collins of Norman and Reba Flores of Carthage, and brother in law Jason Love of Carthage.
The family will receive friends at the home (114 Alpine Ln., Ellerbe). A celebration of life will be conducted at a later date and will be announced by the family.
