Laura Mae Causey Brown

Laura Mae Causey Brown, 83, of Rockingham, passed away Monday, December 17, 2018 at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital – Richmond Campus with her family by her side.

Mrs. Brown was born April 3, 1935 in Richmond County, a daughter of the late Isaac and Flora Guinn Causey. She was a longtime member of Pine Grove Baptist Church where she had been a member of the 59 ½ club and had retired from Burlington Industries. She loved animals, birdwatching and traveling. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Arvid W. Levander and Billy Brown; daughters, Sharon L. Blue and Diane L. Rogers and sisters, Shirley Causey and Delores Scott.

Surviving are her grandchildren, Laura Ann Parks (Steve),  Nickie Johnson (Glenn Thornton), Jamie Blue (Hope), Joshua Brayboy and Jeremy Brayboy; great grandchildren, Ashleigh Thornton, Anthony Thornton, Hailey Blue, Dalton Chavis, Fredrick Clark and Ashley Seibles (Olandis); great great grandchildren, Kaison Clark, Allyana Wilson, Axston Seibles, Asher Seibles and Zay Seibles;  sons-in-law, Macom Blue and Jim Rogers; granddogs, Peaches, Duke, Bella, Marley and Maggie; sister, Catherine Peek and sister-in-law, Julina Levander.

Funeral services will be at 2pm Thursday, December 20, 2018 at Pine Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Phillip Hinson and Rev. Caroll Anthony officiating. Interment will follow in Eastside Cemetery.

The family will see friends from 6 – 8 pm Wednesday at Carter Funeral Home in Rockingham and at other times at Mrs. Brown’s home.
