Larry Wayne Evans

Larry Wayne Evans, 72 of  Hamlet passed away on  August 22, 2021 at Hospice Haven of Richmond County. Larry was born on October 12, 1948 in Yadkin County, North Carolina, the son of Cecil Taylor Evans and Lois Caudle Evans. He was a Vietnam Veteran and was an advocate for all veterans. He was a member of VFw Post 4203 for 34 years, Post 4203 Commander for 2 years, Quarter Master for 15 years, District 9 Adjutant and was in charge of the VFW Post 4203 Veterans Memorial Park.

He loved his fur babies, Dallas, Foxy, Bella,  and Rinny. He loved music, flowers, playing cards, singing and traveling.

He is survived by his wife, Cecelia Eileen Evans; three daughters, Kellie Evans(Rodney Odom), Tonya Cook, Chasity Harrington(Dorien); brother Richard Evans, Bobby Atkins(Pam); twelve grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother Ronnie Evans.

Funeral service with Military Honors will be held at 12:00 noon Thursday at VFW Post 4203.

Interment will follow in Richmond Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to VFW  District 9; Stand up to cancer and the Humane society.
