Larry Cook

James Larry “Bubba” Cook, Jr., 60, of Ellerbe, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 18, 2023 at his home.

Mr. Cook was born December 17, 1962 in Marlboro County, SC, a son of Shirley Bethea Cook and the late James Larry Cook. He worked as a heavy equipment operator and pipe layer and truly loved fishing and his family.

Surviving are his wife, Barbara Hursey Cook; daughter, Heather Cook (Chris); grandchildren, J.T., Katie, Cheyanne, and Maddison; great grandchildren, Masyn and Blakelyn; mother, Shirley Bethea Cook; sisters, Cindy Milam (Dennis) and Jenny Raymer (Donald); step-daughter, Carla Parker (Lee) and several nieces and nephews.

A service to celebrate Larry’s life will be at 2:00 PM Tuesday, May 23, 2023 at Carter Funeral Home in Ellerbe with Pastor Mike Williams officiating. The family will greet friends following the service and at other times at the home.
