Joseph "Butch" Benjamin Thomas, Jr.

Joseph Benjamin “Butch” Thomas, Jr., 74, of Rockingham, passed away Saturday, February 17, 2018 at Hospice Haven.

Butch was born June 8, 1943 in Richmond County, a son of the late Joseph Benjamin and Hazel Williams Thomas. He had worked with Clark Equipment Co and retired from Vulcan Materials. He loved riding his Harley Davidson Motorcycle and along with his son, Benjie, restoring old cars.

Surviving are his wife, Mary West Thomas of the home; son, Benjie Thomas of Rockingham; granddaughter, Hailey T. Ledwell (Billy) of Rockingham; great grandchildren, Draylin, Gracelyn, Kamlyn and Madilyn; sister, Rita Chance of Laurinburg and cats, Peewee and Stinky.

Memorial services will be held at a later date.
