Joann Roberts Spivey

Joann Roberts Spivey, 79, of Rockingham, passed away Monday, December 5, 2022 at Hospice Haven in Rockingham.

Mrs. Spivey was born September 12, 1943 in Scotland County, a daughter of the late Lawrence and Evelyn Leviner Roberts. She retired from Hanes Hosiery Company. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Michelle Spivey.

Surviving are her husband, James Richard “Ricky” Spivey; son, Ricky Spivey; grandchildren, Brittany McRae, Blaine Chavis, Ricky Spivey, Madison Chavis, Mason Santiago, Phillip Spivey and River Thomas; great grandchildren, Gracelyn Chavis and Colton Spivey and brother, James “Jimmy” Roberts.

A service to celebrate her life will be at 3pm Wednesday, December 14, 2022 in the Chapel of Carter Funeral Home with Rev. Mackie Walters officiating. Interment will be held privately.

The family will see friends following the service and at other times at the home.
