Jimmy Lynn Watts

Jimmy Lynn Watts, 66, of Hamlet, passed away Saturday, August 12, 2023 at his home. 

Mr. Watts was born February 20, 1957 in Mecklenburg County, a son of the late James Norman and Beatrice Wright Watts. He was a member of New Beginnings Christian Ministries, an instructor with the Dungeon Boxing Club and a longtime employee of Southern Builders. 

Surviving are his wife, Brenda Kay Quick Watts; children, Jimmy Boe Watts (Etta), James D. Butler, Jr. (Angela), and Michael D. Butler (Melissa); grandchildren, Logan Watts Corral, Bailey Butler, Madalynn Butler, Madison Owen, Camden Preslar and Bailey Preslar; great grandchildren, Payton and Tatum Corral, Lily Juarez and Adalyn Butler and siblings, Patsy Pearmain, Linda Gail Jones, Deane Bullard and Mike Poplin

Funeral services will be at 2pm Thursday, August 17, 2023 at New Beginnings Christian Ministries with Rev. Tony Clark officiating. Interment will follow in Richmond County Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 pm Wednesday at Carter Funeral Home and at other times at the home.
