Jessie Saunders Williams

Jessie Saunders Williams, 86, of Rockingham, passed away Saturday, October 14, 2017 at her daughter’s home. Mrs. Williams was born July 23, 1931 in Richmond County, a daughter of the late Jesse and Nellie Andrews Saunders.  She was a graduate of Rockingham High School, a homemaker and a member of Mt. Carmel Free Will Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Clark Williams and a daughter, Janice W. Probst. Surviving are her son, Carl Clark Williams, Jr.  (Donna) of Florida, Beth W. Board (Donald) of Rockingham; grandchildren, Amanda P. Guenthner, Matthew Probst, Amy Helms, Jamie Williams and Justin Williams and 9 great grandchildren.  Funeral services will be at 6pm Tuesday at Mt. Carmel Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Childers officiating. Interment services will be at 4pm Wednesday in Northam Cemetery. The family will see friends following the service at the church and at other times at the Board home. Memorials may be made to Mt. Carmel Free Will Baptist Church, 573 Battley Dairy Rd, Rockingham, NC 28379 or to Richmond County Hospice, 1119 US Hwy 1 North, Rockingham, NC 28379. The family would like to thank the staff of Richmond County Hospice for their kind and compassionate care of Mrs. Williams during her illness.
