Jeannie Lemoine

January 27, 1952 — September 18, 2025

Rockingham, North Carolina

On Thursday, September 18th, 2025, Jeannea “Jean/Jeannie” Lemoine passed peacefully at her home in Rockingham, North Carolina. She was the daughter of John (Duke) N. Stevens and Ardelle (June) M. Stevens, born January 27th, 1952 in Concord, Massachusetts.

Jean was a graduate from Acton Boxboro Regional High School in Acton, Mass, and from Lakes Region Community College in Laconia, NH, following which she was able to do a six months nurse training in Brazil, South America, which she was extremely proud of having had that opportunity.

Jean loved and was loved by all whom she came to know over her fulfilling life. Living between Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and North Carolina, she was never short of people to care for and people to care for her. She was known to be quite outgoing throughout the communities she’s lived in, spending much of her free time being involved with her church, and with outreach programs to help the less fortunate.

Her love for gardening is seemingly genetic, as it was nearly impossible to ever score who had the better garden between her, her mother, her sister, and her daughter. She does, however, deserve bonus points for moving over 200 concrete blocks by hand to build an intricate wall in and around her garden at her previous residence, which still stands today being enjoyed by the current residents. She was also an artist in many ways, from painting to crocheting. She loved creating heirlooms for her family to pass along.

Her love for her family knew no limits. Though separated by hundreds of miles, she was always sure to send cards and call everybody in the family for all birthdays and holidays, even family members she had not yet met. She would open her heart and her prayers to anyone that made her loved ones happy.

Her final years were often spent confined to home, as traveling became physically difficult for her. Though unable to be out in the community as she was known to be, her community instead came to her. She often had visitors come to see her, to sit with her and tell stories, enjoy meals, assist her in home care, or just to stop by and let her know they were thinking of her.

She was predeceased by her parents, husband, Francis Lemoine, and several aunts and uncles.

She is survived by her daughter Kimberlee (Troy) LeMoine and grandchildren Zachary (Jonathan), James (Miranda) as well as two great grandchildren Griffin and Alden Dearborn, her sister, Donna Shepherd, her niece, Sandra Shepherd, whom she always had a very special bond with and her nephew, Kent Shepherd III (Mary) as well as a great niece (Elizabeth) and great nephew (Kent IV), along with two aunts.

Her final resting place will be in a family plot in Rumney, NH, at a future date.
