James Samuel Foreman, II

James Samuel “Jim” Foreman, II, of King, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, September 21, 2023 at his mother’s home in Ellerbe, NC.

Jim was born October 7, 1953 in Stanly County, NC, a son of Mary Robinson Foreman Vuncannon and the late James Samuel “Pete” Foreman. He was a graduate of Ellerbe High School and attended Wingate College and East Carolina University. He retired from Sports Marketing with RJ Reynolds. Jim was very proud of his son James and enjoyed watching his soccer games, going on camping trips with the Boy Scouts, where James earned the Order of the Arrow. Jim enjoyed NASCAR races, and as an avid fisherman, the fishing trips to Portsmouth Island with the guys. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a sister, Judith Ann Foreman.

Surviving are his wife, Susan Brown Foreman; son, James S. Foreman, III; mother, Mary R. Vuncannon; step-daughter, Lisa Quinn Shelley and step-grandchildren, Kyra, Annaliese and Gracynn Shelley. 

A celebration of Jim’s life will be held at a later date.
