Howell Gray Darnell

Howell Gray Darnell, 74, passed over to his heavenly reward on Saturday, July 31, 2021.

Mr. Darnell was born August 30, 1947 in Richmond County, a son of the late Bausie Fountain and Myrtie Johnson Darnell. He was a member and deacon at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Ellerbe and had retired from Cameron Morrison with over 25 years of service. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Annie Belle Puckett Darnell, son, Howell Gray Darnell, Jr., and brothers, Ralph and William Darnell.

Surviving are his granddaughter, Katie Mendiguren (Josh); great-grandson, Axton Gray Mendiguren; brother, B.F. Darnell, Jr. (Debbie); sisters, Bobbie Covington and Norma Sue Bright (Bobby) and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be at 3:00 pm Tuesday at Ellerbe Cemetery with Rev. Danny Strickland officiating. The family will greet friends following the service.
