The Life and Legacy of Helen Louise Comer Rackley

March 16, 1940— July 27, 2020

Helen Louise Comer Rackley, 80 of Kings Mt., NC went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, July 27, 2020. She was born on March 16, 1940 in Benton, MO. to Orval B. and Lola May Comer.

Helen was an extraordinary woman who lived her life as the virtuous woman in Proverbs 31. She was a devoted wife, proud mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Helen was well known for her many talents in caring for her family as a seamstress, piano teacher and homemaker. She made all the outfits her children wore and played the piano for her family's singing group, “The Singing Rackley Family”.  She also made beautiful quilts marking special occasions for family and friends. Everyone was always welcome in her home. She loved music, bird watching and growing flowers with her green thumb.

She was an intercessor who prayed daily for the needs and lives of family and friends. She sincerely cared about people and easily showed the love of God through her words and actions. Her godly example led many to the Lord, especially her own family. She was a beautiful and gentle soul who just simply loved others, family and Jesus, her Savior.

In addition to her parents and oldest brother, John V. Comer. Helen was preceded in death by her oldest son, Larry Joe Rackley, and her husband of 58 years, James C. Rackley. She leaves behind to mourn and celebrate her life, her six children, daughters, Joni Keith {Brian}, Wendy Rackley, Lola Brooks, Jamie Rackley and sons, James Daniel Rackley and Joel Rackley {Monica}, her 9 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren and sister, Delores E. Clark. She also leaves to cherish her memory a host of cherishednieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

A celebration of her life will be at 11:00am, Saturday, August 29, 2020 at Sunrise Baptist Church in Kings Mountain, NC. Burial will take place at Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery
