Helen Taylor Brown

Helen Taylor Brown, 91, of Florence, SC passed away peacefully at McLeod Hospice House on Wednesday February 4, 2026. Helen was born on March 20, 1934 in Richmond County to the late Jesse and Lela Gillis Taylor.

After graduating from Rockingham High School, she began her career in banking as a teller, before becoming a loan officer. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Hamlet. Along with her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Richard Earl Brown and siblings Jerry Taylor and Bobby Taylor.

Those left to cherish her memory; daughters: Kathy Hatfield and Debbie Wilson (Michael); grandchildren: Michael Wilson, Jr. (Whitney), Patrick Hatfield and Courtney Dawkins (CJ); great grandchildren: Lillian Grace Wilson and Harper Elizabeth Dawkins; and brother Terry Taylor; many extended family including special niece Sherry Smith (Joe) that she loved dearly.

Funeral Services will be held at 2 pm Sunday February 8, 2026 at First United Methodist Church in Hamlet with Rev. Dan Blair officiating. Burial will follow at Richmond Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to First United Methodist Church of Hamlet.
