Harold Wayne McDonald

Harold Wayne McDonald, 81, of Rockingham, completed his earthly journey on Friday, July 10, 2026 at his home.

Harold was born March 2, 1945 in Richmond County, a son of the late William and Grace Dunn McDonald. He had worked as a Mechanic and also with Pepsi Cola and Merita Bread Company. He loved cars, motorcycles, fishing and spending time with his family.

Surviving are his wife, Dianne Buck McDonald; children, H. Wayne McDonald, Jr., Robert L. “Robbie” McDonald, and David A. McDonald; grandchildren, Britanee McDonald, Kristen Knight, Grant Knight, Chelsea Thompson, Jessie Clifton, and Devin Clifton; great grandchildren Brynlee Norton, Serenity Wallace, & Emily Sumter and siblings, Lara Nowell, Kenneth McDonald, Mark McDonald, and Mary Grace Covington.

The family will receive friends from 12:45 – 1:45 pm Saturday, July 18, 2026 at Carter Funeral Home in Rockingham. A celebration of life service will follow at 2:00 pm with Rev. Gary Richardson officiating. Inurnment will follow in Richmond County Memorial Park.
