Georgia Carraway Simmons Haywood

Georgia Carraway Simmons Haywood, 90, of Rockingham passed away Thursday, April 21, 2022 at Accordius Health at Aberdeen.

Mrs. Haywood was born February 22, 1932 in Richmond County, a daughter of the late John Ezzell Carraway and Lee Oma Johnson Caraway Sanford; She retired from JC Penny as merchandise manager. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands E.R. “Cotton” Simmons and William F. Haywood, an infant son and her daughter Cheryl Simmons Brown and a brother, Robert Wendell Carraway.

Surviving are her granddaughter and caregiver, Kelli Barbery and 3 other grandchildren; six great grandchildren; one great grandchild and sister Edna Pearl Carraway Aycoth Poppell.

Funeral services will be held privately.
