Elsbeth Piwonski Pankey

Elsbeth Piwonski Pankey, 86, of Rockingham, passed away Saturday, July 4, 2020 at Hospice Haven.

Mrs. Pankey was born May 8, 1934 in Darmstadt, Germany, a daughter of the late Joseph and Dina Kyle Piwonski. She had been employed with Gaddy’s, Clark Equipment Company and Owens Illinois. She was also a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Daniel Pankey, Jr., a son, Paul D. Pankey and a grandson, Robby Pankey.

Surviving are her children, Danny Pankey (Vernon), Jenny Lovin (Mike), Barbara Poston and Paul Pankey, Jr. (Brittany); 7 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.

Graveside services will be held at 10 am Tuesday, July 7, 2020 at Richmond County Memorial Park with James Dockery officiating. Please remember to wear masks and use social distancing.
