Edna J. Hughes

Edna Greene Hearne Hughes, 78, of Hamlet, passed away Monday, April 8, 2019 at Hamlet House.

Mrs. Hughes was born April 26, 1940 in Richmond County, a daughter of the late William and Mamie Pankey Greene.

Surviving are her children, Charlie Hearne (Norma) of Ellerbe, Carolyn Hearne of Ellerbe, Teresa Steele (Arthur) of Rockingham and Lydia Crank (Wayne) of Rockingham; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; brothers, Elvin Greene and Chesley Greene, both of Rockingham and sisters, Essie Lee Gilliam and Lilly Lammonds, both of Rockingham and Arlene Currin of Lillington.

Funeral services will be at 2pm Thursday at Carter Funeral Home in Ellerbe with Rev. Ricky Jacobs officiating. Interment will follow in Ellerbe Cemetery.

The family will see friends from 12:45 to 1:45 PM Thursday at the funeral home.
