Drucilla Wilson Benoist Taylor

     Drucilla “Drue” Wilson Benoist Taylor went home to be with her Lord on Tuesday July 8, 2025. She leaves behind a wonderful legacy of serving her Heavenly Father. One of her greatest joys was to be in her church, Faith Free Will Baptist Church and fellowship with her church family. Drue rarely missed church services and her love for Christ was obvious in every area of life. She enjoyed singing in the choir and was highly respected by everyone, showing great integrity and highest of morals. She presented monthly Bible lessons at the Ladies Meeting at her church for many years. Drue was loved by everyone who knew her and how thankful they are that she walked through their lives. Many people enjoyed Drue’s laughter and humor. She enjoyed reading, growing beautiful plants and receiving the love of others.

     She delighted in her sewing skills working at Gilead, Rockingham Industries and Fruit of the Loom. Each life she touched was blessed and many of their friendships lasted until her death. During retirement she began lap quilting and made 100’s of all sizes.

     Left to cherish her memory, Drue’s only child, Dianne Benoist White, sister-in-law Eloise Wilson, two half-sisters and many nieces and nephews. They will miss her kindness, generosity and great love. She also leaves behind many special friends who meant everything to her. They regularly visited, blessing her with help around the house whenever needed.

     She is preceded in death by her parents Minor C. and Mae Forbis Wilson, husbands Jesse Benoist and Bill Taylor, her “favorite son-in-law” Joe White and siblings Mary Wright (James), Lucille Thomas (Bill), John Wilson (Martha) and C.C. Wilson.

     The family will receive friends for a time of visitation on Saturday July 12, 2025 at Faith Free Will Baptist Church from 12:45 to 1:45 PM. Funeral services will follow at 2 PM at Faith Free Will Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Richmond County Memorial Park.
