Doris Moore McIntyre

Doris Moore McIntyre, 83, of Rockingham, died Saturday, August 27th, 2022 at Richmond County Hospice.

Mrs. McIntyre was born May 7th, 1939 in Richmond County, a daughter of the late Ethel Cameron Moore and Horace Wilson Moore Sr. She was married to Marshall Neil McIntyre on April 14th, 1962. They were happily married for 46 years before his death in 2008. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Ruby Moore King and her husband Paul.

Mrs. McIntyre was an active member of Roberdel Baptist Church until her health no longer permitted her attendance. She was retired from Sara Lee Hosiery after 27 years of service. One of her favorite pastimes was getting together with her Rockingham High School classmates. They are a tight knit group that have continued to keep in touch with and support one another.

Surviving are her daughter, Donna M. White and son-in-law Tommy White of Ellerbe, beloved grandchildren, Hannah White of Matthews and Hayley White Chavis and husband Martin of Rockingham. Also surviving are brother H.W. “Wilson” Moore and wife Audrey of Rockingham and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will held at 3 pm on Tuesday, August 30th at Roberdel Baptist Church with the Rev. Billy Dennis, Rev. Paul Hill, and Rev. Dr. James Brown officiating. Interment will follow at Eastside Cemetery. The family will receive friends beginning at 1:45 at Roberdel Baptist Church prior to the funeral and at other times at the home of Donna and Tommy in Ellerbe.
