Doris Johnson Arkle

Doris Jean Johnson Arkle, 84, of Ellerbe completed her earthly journey on Monday, October 3, 2022.

Mrs. Arkle was born February 28, 1938 in Akron, Ohio, a daughter of the late Lennie Raymond and Easter Elizabeth Damron Johnson. She was a graduate of the IdaBelle Firestone School of Nursing in Akron, Ohio and worked for many years as a Registered Nurse. She and her husband loved collecting antiques and owned an antique store in Ellerbe many years ago. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Arkle and an infant brother, Lennie R. Johnson, Jr..

Surviving are her daughters, Beth Trussell and Gail Solis; dear friends who she considered her children,  Lisa and Jimmy Hayden; 4 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

A service to celebrate her life will be at 11 am Monday, October 10, 2022 at First United Methodist Church in Ellerbe with Rev. Elizabeth Polk officiating. The family will greet friends following the service.
