Derrick Richard Sparks

Derrick Richard Sparks, 36, of Hamlet, completed his earthly journey on Tuesday, January 24, 2023.

Derrick was born January 22, 1987 in Moore County, a son of Steadman Richard “Ricky” Sparks and Sherry Kay Andrews Greene. He was a member of Outreach for Jesus and worked in construction. He enjoyed his truck, mudding on his four-wheeler, drag racing and anything outdoors. He was preceded in death by his step-father, Richard Greene.

Surviving are his wife, Holly Davis Sparks; son, Derrick Michael Sparks; father, Ricky Sparks (Elizabeth) ; mother Sherry Andrews Greene; brother Rick Sparks (Rebecca) and nephews, Ethan and Cohan Sparks.

A service celebrating his life will be at 3:00 pm Monday, January 30, 2023 at Outreach for Jesus with Bishop Marvin Taylor officiating.

The family will greet friends from 1:45 – 2:45 pm Monday at the church and at other times at the home.
