Dean Layfield Dickens

Dean Layfield Dickens, 80 of Rockingham, passed away on April 20, 2019. Dean was born on June 13,  1938 in Lee County, NC, a son of the late Paul B. and Lillie Jones Dickens. Dean was a landscape contractor, and a mason. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Welton, John, Earnest and Owen Dickens and his sister, Katie Trider.   He is survived by his son, Mitchell L. Dickens of Rockingham, Kevin Dickens of Ft. Worth Texas,  and daughter Pam. D. Marsh(Marty) of Wadesboro; six grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.   A Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, April 24, 2019 in the Colonial Chapel of Carter Funeral Home with Pastor Gene Alexander officiating. Burial will be private after the service.   The family will receive friends and family from 12:45 – 1:45 prior to the service at the Funeral Home.
