David Robert Carpenter

David Robert Carpenter, 65, of Rockingham, passed away Monday, September 28, 2020 at his home.

Mr. Carpenter was born December 25, 1954 in Richmond County, a son of the late Alfred Pinkney and Elsie Mae Carpenter. He was a mechanic and had retired from the City of Rockingham. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Julia Ann Carpenter, grandson, Garon Wayne Benson, brother, Haywood Carpenter and sister Verlene Parker.  

Surviving are his son, David Robert Carpenter, Jr. (Mandy) and brothers, Alfred Carpenter, Johnny Carpenter and James Carpenter.

A graveside service will be held at 2 pm Sunday, October 4, 2020 at Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. Michael Carpenter officiating.

The family will greet friends from 5-7 pm Saturday at the home.
