Darrell Lane McFayden

Darrell Lane McFayden, 65, of Ellerbe passed away at his home on Friday June 1, 2018 surrounded by his family. Darrell was born on August 2, 1952 in Moore county a son of the late Colon and Gladys Ballard McFayden. Darrell worked with Ellerbe Poultry Compnay , the family business, from high school until 1976. He then worked with EMS in the ambulance service from 1976 until 1990, then E-Comm, 911 Dispatcher from 1990 until 2012, a total of 35 years with Richmond County. On the side he painted houses for 30 years.

Surviving are his daughter, Angela McFayden and Greg Bates; son Eric McFayden and Mandie; grandchildren, Tyler Blake, McKenzie McFayden, Brandon McFayden, Peyton Bates, Travis Yow, Kyleigh Yow; and brother Don McFayden and Ann.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Monday, June 4, 2018 at Fellowship Baptist Church with Rev. Larry Frye officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Carmel Presbyterian Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 12:30 – 1:45 pm prior to the service at the church.
